CORVALLIS, Oregon – Griffo Brothers Inc., the world leader in offline programming solutions for Mazatrol, has enhanced its GB\DataTransferTM program with a multi-serial port option. GB\DataTransfer allows users to upload and download Mazatrol, EIA and ISO files from their Mazak machines, as well as track inventory, manage program files and associate text and graphics to specific data files, all at their PC.

The multi-port option allows users to take advantage of multi-port serial device features, including cards and serial hubs, when available. The GB\DataTransfer software supports a range of multi-port devices from various manufacturers, provided they support RS232-C communications.

• Assign each machine tool to a separate serial port
• Access each serial port using an easy pull-down menu in GB\DataTransfer
• Customize each serial port to a baud rate specific to its assigned machine tool

Griffo Brothers Inc. released an engraving feature in its GB\DataEntry M software to assist Mazak machinists with part engraving needs. GB\DataEntry allows you to move your powerful Mazak programming off-line, and includes drag-and-drop Mazatrol programming, Shape Check, and Tool Path Check with 3D solids verification to ensure program accuracy.     Now, in addition to all these outsanding capabilities, Mazak users can engrave all the letters of the alphabet as well as numerals zero through nine.

The new engraving feature is quick and easy to use.     When you´re programming Mazatrol at your PC with CamLink, simply insert a manual process.     From there, you have control over:

• Selecting the toll
• Choosing to engrave on a line at any angle around an arc
• Setting direction (clockwise or counter-clockwise)
• Justifying left, right or center
• Determining high of letter

Announcing at WESTEC 2003 - The ability to link the power of Mazatrol with CAD that was available for milling is now available for lathe with Griffo Brothers’ new GB\GeoEntry T.

GB\GeoEntry T, similar to GB\GeoEntry M is an add-on program available to GB\DataEntry users. GB\GeoEntry allows users to import a .DXF file, a common CAD software file format, as well as a .GEO file, a file format specific to CamLink’s GB\GeoEntry software, into a Mazatrol program.

“GeoEntry is truly an incredible product for Mazatrol programmers,” said Mark Matsler, founder and president of Griffo Brothers Inc. “Simply select an entity; accept the selection and GeoEntry carries the geometry into your Mazatrol program.”

GB\DataEntry MT adds to the CamLink line of software allowing its users to create new Mazatrol programs and edit existing programs away from the machine at a PC. GB\DataEntry MT adds to GB\DataTransfer and GB\DataPrint MT, already available for the 640MT machine.
